Who’s it for?

Whether you’ve gutta problem or not, if you want to know and understand your body (and your gut) a bit better, this is the journal for you!

What is it?

This easy to navigate journal enables you to track your food (including fibre and variety), hydration, mood and poo and to explore how you're feeling, if you're experiencing any symptoms and how much you're moving. This diary really helps you to understand how your body is working and will give you a great tool to spot patterns, good or bad.

We’ve even included a gratitude section to help give you little reminder of all the things to be grateful for!

If you do have gut symptoms, you can take your journal to a nutritionist, dietician or GP to help you explain what you're experiencing (we know they'll thank you for it!).

N.B. This is NOT intended to be a food diary for calorie counting.

How to use it?

Fill in one page per day (make sure you fill in the date) and try to do it for 6 weeks. It doesn’t matter if you miss a couple of days, it’s the bigger picture over the course of that time which matters.

I like the diary, I wish the the section for your food would be bigger because only three rows are quite little, especially when you are trying to eat a variety of food. For me personally the right site (how did you feel, exercise) could be a bit smaller which would allow more space for food. It would be also helpful to have like a calendar page after 30 pages of filling in the diary where you could put down in one word how you felt that day so that you can easily spot what days you for example were bloated or not to then go back to the diary to figure out what caused the bloating on that day.

Useful book

I have used this in the past and it was really helpful to find out triggers (soya lecithin was a surprising thing to avoid for me) and decided to use it again to reevaluate my ibs as it was flaring up a lot recently. I love the updated version thankyou
